Author: There are many reasons a dog’s appetite can increase. If your dog has been getting a lot of exercise lately, meaning it uses a lot of calories, obviously the dog’s body will need that “fuel” back. If your dog is pregnant, she will need to eat more too. So increase her appetite. Dogs that are still growing or young also need more food than older sedentary dogs. It’s also possible that the dog is just not get the right amount of food for its size and weight, to avoid this, read the indications that come on the bags of food you buy for the dogs, which will tell you the correct amount of food to give depending on the dogs size etc. If you have any doubts about this, it’s best to just ask your veterinarian about it. Ask him also to weigh your dog to make sure that he is not losing weight. One last observation to keep in mind; if your dog is on a diet, obviously he is going to always look like he is starving.
