The Committee is currently undertaking an inquiry into hate crime in Northern Ireland. The consultation will help the Committee to gather evidence beyond official statistics, and to widen the pool of people involved in the consultation process. The inquiry is aimed at encouraging individuals to communicate their experiences when they may not otherwise be willing to do so.
To this end it is, taking evidence from individual members of the public and outside organisations and, for the first time, holding an on-line consultation on the subject. The Committee has also been holding meetings around the country to find out what people think should be changed.
