Charities supporting diabetes patients
- Diabetes UK is the leading charity working for people with diabetes. The charity funds research, campaign and helps people to live with the condition.
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the leading charitable funder and advocate of juvenile (type 1) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
- Insulin Pumpers UK are part of an international charity promoting the knowledge and use of insulin pump therapy to treat diabetes. This site is run by volunteers to help people with diabetes.
- Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation (also known as DRWF) is essentially an organisation of diabetes patients, their parents and their friends joining together in a ‘Diabetes Wellness Network’ to help all those afflicted by diabetes.
- The Royal College of Nursing (also known as RCN) represents nurses and nursing, promotes excellence in practice and shapes health policies.
- Help the Aged is working hard for a world in which older people are valued for their contribution to society, involved in their local communities and fulfilled in their needs, hopes and aspirations.
- The Abbeyfield Society is a UK-wide volunteer-led charity providing housing with support or care for older people.
